Job title: Computer Services Operator (IT Specialist)
Summary:
Provide technical desktop application software and hardware support for employees that exist in varied size and geographic sites.

Responsibilities:
Support end user community with desktop applications, hardware installation and repair, Internet communications, network wiring schemes and protocols, and printing issues in an effective and efficient manner using all available resources.

Support business critical applications developed in-house, by providing user training and applications upgrades.
Provide assistance to Network Operations by supporting internal and external networks, E-Mail systems, and Internet communication as needed.
Responsible for the pick-up, repair, allocation and delivery of all computer equipment to support teams, corporate departments, and executive staff.
Maintain all necessary statistical data for internal computer inventory and the allocation of laptops and personal computer's for employees working remotely.
Participate in determining and implementing standards for software and hardware.
Develop and teach software classes on standard software products and/or end user training programs.
Work closely with IT management to develop and implement improved desktop support and business practices.
Deploy software as required.
Assist other IT departments with local issues as necessary.
Be required to participate in on-call rotation.


Qualifications
Requirements:
Skill in providing an exceptional customer experience.
Skill in verbal and written communication to analyze, interpret and address customer needs.
Knowledge of contact services industry and best practices.
Knowledge of industry leading manufacturers of PC-compatible and Macintosh computers
Knowledge of DOS, MS Windows, NT Workstation, Macintosh platforms, Internet communications, and Hewlett Packard LaserJet Printers
Knowledge of databases, reporting tools, and group-ware applications, including E-mail and Lotus Notes
Knowledge of NT Server and various platforms of this product.
Knowledge of switches/routers/firewalls and their usage and deployment.
Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure as it relates to hands on support of Aspect and Avaya ACDs/PBXs
Knowledge of backup tape units and various rotation schedules along with other methods of data protection and recovery.
Knowledge of various technologies and tools
Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to lift/bend and deploy equipment up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work flexible hours, respond to on-call emergency situations, and travel to remote sites as required
Ability to work with minimal guidance or supervision in a time critical environment.
Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
College education with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
