Description Telecommunication & Applications Officer, University technology Infrastructure (UTI) Installs, configures and trouble-shoot telecommunication equipment, including switches, servers, GSM gateways and other devices. Troubleshoot and solve telecommunication problems of all connected users. Operate and trouble-shoot campus-wide telecom systems. Acts as second level support and assist support staff in handling high level problems. Reports to the Assoc. Director on plans, projects and other functions. Assist in managing contracts with Telecom Egypt, Internet service providers and mobile phone service providers
Qualifications Minimum education requirement: B.Sc degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent Experience: • 5-10 years experience in IP telephony systems administration. • Good knowledge of telecom equipment and operations preferably Cisco and Nortel • Knowledge of Windows operating system, TCP/IP • Excellent knowledge of PC and telecom software and hardware Skills: • Excellent communication skills • Excellent command of the English language. • Ability to work under pressure, on shifts, overtime and on weekends
