Planning Manager
Main Role
The Director of Planning manages the strategy for the Planning Department, and oversees the production planning in a cost-effective manner.
Key Activities
1. Develops the Production Planning strategy .
2. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
3. Plans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
4. Previews production and operating reports and resolves operational manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
5. Develops and works with supervisors in all areas such as employee relations, problem solving, setting and achieving goals, manufacturing processes, scheduling, disciplinary action, terminations, equipment problems, etc.
6. Works closely with plants in the areas of safety and quality. Ensures programs are maintained, the plant is in compliance with the standards, and the appropriate training is effectively given to all employees.
7. Provides assistance to employees and supervisors in solving work-related problems. Evaluates the issue and meets with supervisors and human resources to determine the most effective remediation technique.
8. Develops and revises standard operational and working practices and observes employees to ensure compliance.
Warehousing Manager
Main Role
Responsible for controlling warehouse activities including general operations, inventory management and managing the item master list. Ensure efficient utilization of the facilities and prompt delivery from the raw material to the finished goods.
Key Activities
1. Warehouse Strategic Planning—Selecting the most efficient storage designs, material handling systems and warehouse management systems to ensure peak operations performance.
2. Distribution Center Design and Implementation—Creating, maintaining and administering budgets and schedules; assisting with obtaining proper permits; overseeing installation; developing product slotting configurations for maximum material handling and storage efficiency; conducting equipment acceptance.
3. Distribution Network Configuration—Determining the number and location of distribution centers and manufacturing plants.
4. Site Selection—Evaluating existing structures, utilities, fix-up costs, support services
5. Systems Integration—integrating computerized and manual warehousing systems through system configuration and set up, acceptance testing start-up and implementation.
6. Inventory Management—Analyzing inventory levels throughout the supply chain.
7. Transportation System Planning—Selecting the best transportation configuration and suppliers to minimize costs.
8. Maintenance—Turning the maintenance operation into a profit center by improving product quality, utilization of equipment operators, overall equipment effectiveness, throughput capacity and equipment life.
9. Identify replenishment Items and set reorder points
10. Coordinate with stock planning and control to set minimum/ maximum stock levels
11. Manage the item master file
12. Initiate periodic and yearly inventory count to assure accuracy in inventory levels
13. Approves periodical stock counts
14. Involved in the approval for the disposal of obsolete items
15. Develop in coordination with the Supply Chain Head the annual budget and operating plan
16. Develop Departmental policies and procedures
