DOCUMENTATION SYSTEM MANAGER
Under the general guidance of the Observatory Coordinator, the database manager is
responsible for managing easily accessible and user-friendly databases with primary and
secondary socio-economic data related to child rights.
• Develop and maintain databases on socio-economic data
• Create and update a roster of national policies, laws and projects implemented
by governmental and non-governmental organizations in Egypt for children and
adolescents
• Create and update a roster of international and national reports, academic reviews,
journals and grey literature whose topics are relevant to the mandate of the NCCM
• Administrate, in coordination with UNICEF, the DevInfo databases created by
ENCRO, namely EHDRInfo and TofoolaInfo
Provide training on data base packages, incl. DevInfo
Administrate the ArcGIS mapping system, reporting maps to NCCM team
Maintain close contacts and establish cooperation protocols with all mapped
centers and institutions operating in Egypt and mandated with knowledge
production relevant to the scope of NCCM
• Liaise, for information and data sharing purposes, with the Inter-ministerial
committee established by the Observatory
Produce graphic reports with socio-economic data
Coordinate with the NCCM Library team to:
Planning acquisition (for books, reports, studies, audio and visual materials…)
Establish a classification system for the acquisitions
Administrate the online NCCM Library Management System
Enhance the capacity of the Library staff in information and knowledge management
• Coordinate with the ENCRO Knowledge Portal manager to publish relevant
documentation in the relevant sections in the website
• Perform any other duties assigned by her/his supervisor
Experience and qualifications
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics
or a related fiel
Masters Degree is an asset
Work experience:
- At least 3 years working experience in database management
- Familiarity with GIS mapping is required
Familiarity with human rights, child rights and child well-being issues
Excellent computer skills, knowledge of SQL database management, data migration
between different data formats and data analysis
Good communication skills
Active team player
Familiarity with DevInfo is an asset
Language and communication:
Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English required, French is an asset
