Job Role:
• Editing translated and revised articles (from English to Arabic) in a timely fashion and maintaining high standards of quality for Nature, Arabic Edition in a manner that enhances the reputation of the journal.
• To ensure the highest quality of all details of text and figures, and page appearance of the journal, within the limits of production schedules.
Key tasks:
• Edit translated and revised articles (from English to Arabic) on screen in a timely fashion for correct scientific terminologies in accordance with the journal’s Manual of Style.
• Expertly checks and corrects Arabic grammar, punctuation, spelling and internal consistency of figures, tables and text.
• Communicate with translators and reviewers regarding organization of articles, omissions and discrepancies in both translated and revised articles and page proof
• Proof-read articles once laid out
• Insert electronic links into edited text (where applicable)
• Write messages in response to comments and questions
• Answer style questions from editorial and production staff
• Liaise with web staff in ensuring quality of online publication of journal
• After the issue closes, file Production files and help to check web site
• Copy editing of marketing and or sales material in Arabic related to Nature, Arabic Edition and other MSC/NPG products as required
• Participates, as needed, in the translation and/ or revision of articles
• Such other tasks as the company may assign from time to time
