Education: Chartered Mechanical Engineer
Qualifications:
• Experience of working within process industries (preferable food or chemical) with heavy mechanical plant to include centrifuges and vacuum pans
• Full knowledge of Emergency repairs, total failure of mechanical plant & rehabilitation of plant back to operating condition, Knowledge of power generation and allied technologies
• Fully understands condition monitoring & planned maintenance system
• Good knowledge of Crane operations & ship unloading operations & Sugar industrial process
• Excellent Knowledge of the following:
o Maintenance and application of different types of valves
o Hydraulic system for caterpillar
o Welding and Lubrication
o Pump and Material selection
o Emergency repairs
o Repair of major boiler/ stream turbine failure
o Crane operations
o HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning)
o maintaining gearboxes, pumps
Experience:
• 10 years experience preferably in recognized mechanical standards such as ASTM, ASME, BS etc.
• preferably in food or chemical field

Main Responsibilities:
• To liaise with the Production Dept, Raw Sugar Unloading, Retail & Shift Supervisors / Foremen
• Prepares work schedules for the Shift Engineering, Condition Monitoring & Planned Maintenance, Mechanical Workshop and Berth 30 operations in order to achieve acceptable reliability standards within agreed budgets
• Ensures mechanical maintenance is carried out to the required safety, engineering and product quality assurance standards, on schedule.
• To ensure all Shift Mechanical Engineering, Condition Monitoring & Planned Maintenance and Workshop practice meet the requirements of legislation & Company policy
• Manages his team effectively, with particular emphasis on training and safety
