Fabrication Laboratory Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Lab Manager will be responsible for organizing and running digital fabrication facilities as safe and effective learning environments
2. provide instruction to the members with design and research projects
and offer advice and instruction on the materials and techniques as well as the process of fabrication and assembly to ensure safe and successful outcomes
3. Will participate in educational initiatives aimed at new machine purchases and teaching
4. The successful individual will work with the founders of the organization, to oversee daily administrative operations including, fundraising, marketing,
financial management and programming; supervise Lab operations with assistance of the founders and volunteers
5. Work with the board of directors to assure the organization follows its long-range strategy to achieve its mission, making consistent and timely progress
6. Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the board of Directors and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the board
7. Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization's work
8. Maintain organizational records and documents
9. Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field
10. See that the board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it through regular reports and correspondence
11. Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals using methods including but not limited to traditional, non-traditional and social media techniques

Requirements
* Have 0-3 years experience in a related field (arts, electrical/electronics engineering, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, IT)
* Have experience with Rhino/CAD/CAM software and equipment or generic 3D modeling experience; computer programming experience advantageous
* Have experience with Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW
* Must have strong internet research skills
* Technical writing skills
* Must be passionate about digital fabrication and technology
* Must be able to show examples of all above requirements
Bonus:
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; a professional degree in design or a technology-related discipline preferred
* Experience managing a fabrication facility for an educational program utilizing traditional and digital methods
* Knowledge of Electronics
* Web development skills
* Knowledge of CNC machines
